How can we help?

Tap the moss + button. Placemoir suggests the place you're standing in, or you can search Apple Maps by name. The address, date, time and weather fill themselves in, and you can change any of them before you save.

Add an entry for the place again. Placemoir recognizes it and adds a new visit, so the place keeps every visit together with its own date, rating and notes. You'll see them all under Your visits here on the entry.

Go to You › Rating style. Simple is one tap: I'll be back or Never again. Detailed adds one to five stars in half steps plus “Would you go back? Yes, Maybe or No.” Your old ratings carry over when you switch.

Weather needs a location for the place, a date and an internet connection. If any of those were missing when you saved, the field shows Add weather. Edit the entry to pick the weather yourself, or adjust the time and Placemoir looks it up again in Apple Weather. You can turn weather off entirely in You › Fill in weather.

Placemoir syncs through your own iCloud account. Check that:

• Each device is signed in to the same Apple Account.
• iCloud is turned on for Placemoir in Settings › [your name] › iCloud.
• Your iCloud storage isn't full. Photos and voice memos count toward it.

Sync can take a few minutes, especially for photos. Keeping Placemoir open on Wi-Fi helps it catch up.

Turn on You › Lock with Face ID. Placemoir then asks for Face ID (or Touch ID, or your passcode) each time you open it. Apple handles the check on your device. We never receive your face data.

Go to You › Export journal. You'll get a single file with every entry in a standard format (JSON), plus all of your photos, voice memos and files. Save it to Files, AirDrop it to your Mac, or keep it wherever you keep backups.

Yes. Import from Photos reads the location and time stored in the photos you pick and suggests the places and dates. Import from Google Maps reads the files from a Google Takeout export of your Maps data, then matches each place in Apple Maps.

Both happen on your iPhone or iPad. Your photos and files aren't uploaded, and Placemoir never connects to your Google account.

When you save a place in a hurry with quick capture, Placemoir can remind you later to add your notes and rating. The reminder is a notification scheduled on your device, and Placemoir asks your permission the first time. Turn it off any time in Settings › Notifications › Placemoir.

Delete any entry from its … menu. To erase everything, use You › Delete all data, next to Export journal. With iCloud on, that also removes your journal from your other devices and your iCloud account, so export first if you want a copy. Because your journal lives only on your devices and in your iCloud account, deleting the app removes it from that device, and you can remove the iCloud copy in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. We don't hold a copy, so there's nothing for us to delete on our side.

Not yet. Placemoir is private first, so sharing will always be something you choose for a single place or trip, never a public profile. It's on the list.
